System in which the flow rate remains constant regardless of how high the load pressure is, assuming any pressure-controlled leakage losses are ignored.
Constant flow systems in an open circuit are therefore always fitted with constant pumps (in a closed circuit, with a variable pump) and can only operate one load at a time (Figure K 30).
If there is more than one load in a system, these must be connected in such a way that they can only be operated one after the other (e.g. series circuit), or flow valves or flow dividers will have to be used.
